DailyPUMA Slightly shifts some blogs from the inner right column to the outer right column.

In case you are used to looking at one column for a specific blog, I noticed that the inner right column was "descending" topics at a much faster rate than the outer column over the first several hours. This was due in part to my adding some new blogs in the past couple of weeks to the inner column.

If I shifted your blog to the outer right column it was entirely to help ensure that your blog wasn't descending too fast by being in the inner right column.

Two blogs were recently dropped for their "handling" of the Hillary Clinton Congo incident. Their criticism of Hillary Clinton's response to the what would Bill Clinton think question revealed them to be PUMA's that are not for Hillary Clinton. I am not against criticizing Hillary Clinton, but when it is so obviously either another media attempt to "put her in her place", or a republican led assault, then why go along if you really are a PUMA?

The Media treatment of Hillary Clinton is basically one of the primal tenets that caused PUMA's to be born, no?

I will also issue this request, If ANYONE can come up with what Hillary Clinton should have said when she was asked "What Bill Clinton thought about China and the World Bank's involvement in Congo" question, that would not have resulted in Hillary Clinton being skewered by the media or her political opponents, please, put it in the comments section.

I don't believe an answer exists that would have allowed Hillary Clinton to get away unscathed from that question. It is what used to be known as a "wife beating" question.

In the earlier days of our court system, lawyers would ask an opposing defendant, plaintiff or witness "if they STILL beat their wives".

No matter how one answers the question, they are made to look as if they beat their wife at one time or another. That is the type of situation that Hillary Clinton was put in, in Congo.

More Credit Card Industry Shenanigans involving WHAT YOU USE YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR! HOW DARE YOU PURCHASE FROM A THRIFT STORE!

You need to just give up and roll over, that appears to be the Barack Obama way. How dare you try and save money by purchasing from a thrift store, you obviously need to be red flagged and condemned.

Remember, there are no death panels in the Barack Obama administration, but there appear to be reassessment panels that decide if you are worthy of respect or not. Yes, we have another decider in the white house, a decider of health care who blew off his own dying mother in Hawaii so he could travel to Bali to finish writing his tribute book to his deadbeat, sperm donor father.

Oh, wait, someone may protest, you can't blame Barack Obama because credit card companies are punishing people for trying to live within their means. Yes, we can, and yes, we should.

As long as Barack Obama pridefully views Jamie Dimon of Chase Bank as his favorite Wall Street Banker, Barack Obama can take responsibility for all of the evil and UNNECESSARY TACTICS the Credit Card Companies are spewing onto the american consumer.

I am not against the credit card companies using SOME data profiling to determine cost risk analysis. For instance, people who run up credit card bills in bars and strip joints are more likely to default on their credit card account. However, to apply that same measuring cup to someone who is buying from a thrift store is insulting, and discriminatory. As a consumer aptly pointed out, buying from a thrift store enables them to balance their overall budget.

Barack Obama seems intent on fixing the pain others have allegedly cost even as he stands idly by while his wall street credit card buddies create their own brand of pain. One area that credit card companies refused to explore, and one that is so necessary at this point in time, is credit card debt reductioning. Credit card companies are shutting down credit to people ovenight.

If someone pays down their credit card bill 150 dollars, let them respend 50 bucks of it for small purchases. This is such an obvious, obvious solution to the current credit card debt problems that is purposely being ignored by the banks, why, I don't know.

Again, this gets into an area of incentivizing credit card debt paydowns. Even as companies like Chase Bank unfairly put the screws to their own credit card customers by NOT offering credit card paydown incentives, they do continue to offer new customer incentives to lure them into the same traps they have in place for existing customers.

Text Messaging "solution" when in the presence of other family members.

Over the years I have worked on low budget video and film projects with people who have come to Los Angeles from all over the world, the emphasis on low budget, and all over the world.

One characteristic that I have always found a bit alienating (ha ha) are the foreign language discussions that get intermixed within the English discussions. The foreign language discussion instantly excludes half the set, and those who are speaking in the other language don't seem to mind that others on the set can't follow along.

So when texting came along, it was deja vu all over again. I can be standing next to somebody who one moment was talking to me, then the next is engaged in a foreign language discussion with an invisible friend via the language of textila (Ok I made textila up). One second they are talking to me, the next, they are immersed in textilian discussions with someone who is not even there!

Can you imagine hit men who use texters to set up targets. Assistant Texter hit man texting to hit man "yeah, he's standing right next to me, he told me he will be here for the next 15 minutes."

Assistant Texter hit man turns to target, "where did you say you were going next?" Target politely answers...

Assistant Texter hit man texts, "Will then be going to see a movie around the corner", then dinner across the street"

"Thank you and tell target to have a really good last night of his life" the hit man texts back to the assistant texter hit man. "ha ha" assistant texter hit man texts back.

While I don't have an answer to the above scenario other than "don't talk to strange texter's", especially if they ask you what you are doing that evening and then immediately text after your response, I do propose a new texting rule for families.

Texting should have an audio option that I call "loudcast". A parental unit should have the right to demand that any texting being done in their presence by their offspring, be heard by them before it is transmitted, aka "loudcast". Imagine being able to playback all of your children's text messages for the entire day in loudcast.

I bet Verizon will salivate if they are given this idea.

Dare I claim to having come up with two new words in the same article, textila and loudcasting (Textila and Loudcasting kind of sounds like a Thema and Louise movie updated for the hand gadget age).

Imagine your son Jimmy is texting his friend about how he can't stand his parents, aka you and spouse, and doing it while you are standing just a few feet away (Is Jimmy training to be a future "assistant texter" hit man?). When Jimmy hits the send button, I am proposing that the text message is "loudcast" loud enough for his parents to hear the text message, should the parents choose to want to hear the message.

Isn't the internet great for sharing cool ideas that will get stolen and no numeration given.

So there is my contribution to the world today, Textila and Loudcast, playing at a theatre near you. Textila is a person who engages in a texting discussion while ignoring people in the same room, Loudcasting lets you listen to your children's text messages whenever they begin to text with you in the room.

Lost in Translation, why Hillary Clinton was annoyed by a question directed towards Bill Clinton.

Hillary Clinton has made the news shown testily responding to what was a dumb and insulting question. The question was dumb because it was directed towards Bill Clinton, who was not at the question and answer session.

But what gets lost in translation is that Hillary Clinton, although on a stage with curtains behind her, just like what you might see at any town hall meeting in the U.S., WAS INSTEAD IN THE CONGO!

Can anyone of us even begin to imagine how annoying it must have been to travel halfway around the world, then travel within the Congo, arrange a public forum, and then be asked a question about what Bill Clinton thinks?

In retrospect, it might have been funny if Hillary Clinton had pulled out her cell phone, hit the old speed dial, and then talked to her husband right then and there and relayed the question.

But who knows how that would have played out. I could see Jay Leno then joking that now we know who Hillary Clinton would have called at 3am if she had become president and there was an emergency.

It seems as if we expect our politicians to never show contempt in public under any circumstance, but then we complain that politicans are phony.

I'm glad Hillary was annoyed and showed it, that's the best way to alleviate stress brought on by having to answer a stupid question in a public forum. Unfortunately, being a woman will cause the media and all the male late night host comedians to now ridicule Hillary Clinton rather than the questioner.

If it had been a male politician responding to a dumb question, these same male late night host comedians would have probably gone after the questioner instead. Remember John McCain and the woman who thought Barack Obama was a muslim and an Arab. John McCain responded something to the effect, "no he's an american". The unsaid snub being that if Barack obama were Arab that somehow that would have been a bad thing. Who took the media hit, McCain, or the woman? Saturday Night live made fun of the woman, and that clip was played over and over by the mainstream media over the next couple of days.

Lets take this one step further. The best way out of the situation, is to prevent it from ever happening. If Hillary Clinton was able to control each and every question that was asked, could she have achieved a better result? As we know now, controlling questions is a privilege reserved for Barack Obama press conferences. If Hillary Clinton had tried controlling each and every question, and been caught doing it, she would have been ridiculed by the media, for being controlling and manipulative.

The conclusion is, there was no way out until female members of the media GROW UP and stand up to the men and defend female politicians.

I seriously hope Rush Limbaugh keeps his trap shut about this incident, or at least has the decency to go the Congo first before opening his yap. As it stands now, NewsMax has already turned this into a Hillary versus Bill issue, when it was not.

UH OH, SOMEBODY GOT THROWN UNDER the CASH for CLUNKERS BUS!

Apparently, used car dealers and car repair places are watching some of their best customers disappear right in front of their eyes as cash for clunkers gobbles up their pride and joy, oldish cars that still work and need to be maintained. Used Cars that can be repaired, reused, and resold.

Will the used car industry get a bailout?

One thing that remains obvious to me is, Consumer credit card debt MUST BE DRIVEN DOWN by offering incentives to those who have debt and are trying to pay their credit card debt down. If frugal people who were getting by on their older cars now have purchased newer cars, haven't they just taken on more debt?

I think the most obvious incentive to help our economy is to waive any future interest rate charges on existing credit card debt, not waive the debt, just waive future interest rate charges, penalties and fees for those who are trying to pay down their credit card debt.

I don't have a suggestion for the used car industry other than sorry you were in the way of the Barack Obama "throw em under the bus" Express. Lets just hope that Michelle didn't look around one day and say, "there's so many yucky cars on the road, do something about it, honey".

Why Barack Obama's Poll Numbers Just Don't Matter.

Years ago I heard a funny answer to the question, How old is old? The answer, 15 years older than your current age. Since that answer will always remain 15 years ahead of whatever age one has become, 15 years from now you may give the same answer you gave 15 years ago.

When it comes to Barack Obama's poll numbers, I have some bad news for republicans. Whatever Barack Obama's poll numbers are, YOUR NUMBERS WILL CONTINUE TO BE AT LEAST 15 POINTS LOWER!

The mere fact that Republicans think they gain a point for every point Barack Obama loses, just points to how selfish they really are. In my book you EARN WHAT SOMEONE ELSE HAS LOST, you don't just stand by and expect to get something for nothing, unless you are a do nothing republican.

Until someone actually does something to alleviate the monthly pressure of ridiculous interest rate charges on stupid, worthless 1 trillion dollars worth of consumer credit card debt, I just won't vote for either party.

Could you imagine what 15-25 billion dollars THAT ARE PRESENTLY BEING CHARGED PER MONTH on OLD consumer credit card debt could do for local economies all over the country if the old credit card interest was waived? And none of the waived interest rate charges would be coming from the government or your tax dollars!

It seems so ironic to me that on one side people are judgmental of those with credit card debt, and on the other side people may just give up completely on their debts and default instead. Nobody in power seems to want to champion the most obvious solution of all, just waive all interest rate charges, penalities, and fees on credit card debt that is older than 2-3 years so people can actually see their debt go down on a one dollar borrowed to one dollar paid basis.

Incentives to help people pay down their debts would help local economies grow again, and would actually not cost the taxpayer one cent. EVERYBODY WOULD GAIN, including the banks.

I would suggest that rather than watching Barack Obama's poll numbers, be more concerned that Republicans never met a banker they did not like, just like Barack Obama.

Putting the Klunk in Cash for Clunkers.

There have been a few complaints against the cash for clunkers program as being just another government bailout boondoggle. One writer calculated that the actual increase in the number of cars that would be sold this quarter would be around 22,000. They then divided that figure by the one billion dollars and determined that the cost per additional car sold was around 40-44,000 dollars per car! Ouch!

I don't think the above calculation takes into account mitigating circumstances such as would sales have really been only 22,000 cars less without the discount? Also, were I a superficial ninny and my friend who was driving a real clunker suddenly shows up in a car nicer than mine, I'm heading to the car lot and I'm going to buy a newer, better car, and WITHOUT the clunker discount!

So it may be too early to predict how many more cars will be sold. Plus, there are a LOT LESS dealerships around these days, so actually gaining 22,000 more car sales could actually work out to a significant percentage increase among the remaining car dealerships.

However, I think there is a more tangible concern to roil over in regards to the cash for clunkers progrm. Some of the clunkers being turned in are simply being replaced by an 09 clunker. Check out this ad,

What does purchasing a huge SUV have to do with the cash for clunkers program? You have to really study the ad to see that the bottom car in the ad, the Yukon, has no cash for clunkers discount attached, they just chose to add a similar discount to try and get the super hatchling out the door with the other slightly less clunkery vehicles.

Which brings me to my gripe.

ONLY A 2 MPG INCREASE and a customer can turn in an old super heavy clunker for a new super heavy clunker?

I understand that 2 miles per gallon improvement on a big heavy clunker is percentage wise better than it sounds. However, I would have tied the clunker discount directly to the MPG of the New Car Being purchased, that's what really matters, isn't it? Any new car that gets 27 miles per gallon combined, or over, gets a 2,500 dollar discount. For every additional mile per gallon over 27 that a new car can squeeze out in the miles per gallon category, I would have added an extra 250 dollars discount, up to 40 miles per gallon ceiling on the new car purchase. If you turn in a clunker and buy a car that gets 39 miles per gallon combined, you would get a 5,500 dollar rebate.

The higher the MPG of the car being purchased, the higher the likelihood that that new car won't tear up the streets and make potholes out of the newly minted pavement that has been resurfaced with infrastructure stimulus money, and, perhaps, we stall off making new potholes from bombs in other parts of the world as we seek out new sources of oil.

Lets have some perspective here. Is it really that big of a deal to drive a car that gets really good gas mileage if it means less wars around the globe, AND the government is willing to help you pay for the car? It's just too bad the government had to put the k in klunker and just not go far enough with this program in terms of really promoting higher miles per gallon cars.

I talked about the importance of combining stimulus programs so they end up complementing each other. The more fuel efficient cars on the road, the longer the roads last, ergo infrastructure money going towards roads is an investment that now lasts longer. In my opinion paying people to barely upgrade their miles per gallon on their new car purchase misses the whole point of the cars for clunkers program.

The AGE of Political Correctness, Revisited.

If I call you short, when you are tall, have I offended you? If I call you smart, when you are dumb, have I offended you? If I think you are Chinese, but you are Japanese, have I offended you?

How Times have "changed".

When James Crowley temporarily arrested Henry Louis Gate's inside the Gates motel, Mr. Gate's behavior reminded me of Fred Sanford from the classic hit TV Show Sanford and Son. Who of the four should be offended by my comparisions? If I think James Crowley acted like Barney Fife (actually I don't, but I aim to be politically correct since I equated Henry Louis Gates with Fred Sanford of Sanford and Son), who should be offended, Crowley or Fife?

If Henry Louis Gates is Fred Sanford, and we equate James Crowley to Barney Fife, would that make Barack Obama, Andy Griffith? Dare I even equate Joe Biden with Gomer Pyle? Shazaam!

The two ladies (otherwise known as Aunt Bea and Betty Lou from the Andy Griffith show) who originally reported Fred Sanford's suspicious activities on the Gates Motel Porch that resulted in Barney Fife showing up to arrest Fred, were BOTH IGNORED and SHUNNED from the White House brew ha ha by Andy Griffith.

If I call our two heroines Aunt Bee and Betty Lou, would not that be considered a COMPLEMENT, or is it an insult to change our two leading ladies race when describing them in a television series context? I don't know anymore.

On the other hand, if this and the prior dailypuma article about these two lady heroines embarrasses the white house into meeting with them, then maybe it is not such a bad thing. Maybe if our two heroines weren't left out of the limelight, it might create more opportunities for females to be spotlighted alongside the Barney Fife's and Fred Sanford's of the word. I would like to see more news coverage that showcases women as community leaders.

Has the age of Political correctness reached such enlightenment that saying anybody is like anybody else can no longer be seen as an insult? If I say you smell like a pig, why is that an insult, and to whom is it an insult anyways?

Unfortunately for pigs, many humans find their smell rather delicious when cooked. Are we actually insulting an animal for the way they smell when they are alive even though many humans LOVE the way the way pigs taste when cooked? Now THAT is an insult, to the PIG!

Why do we associate practically every animal on the planet with an insult? You are a rat, dumb as an ox, he gets my goat, sly as a fox, He's a donkey's behind, you are an eager beaver, playing possum (probably not really an insult), a wolf in sheeps clothing, quiet as a mouse, and on and on.

When I made a conscious attempt to quit using animals as insults, I find myself occasionally tongue tied, aka, cat got your tongue?

Thank God a cat has never grabbed my tongue, I think that would hurt. (Oh my god, I think I'm channeling Andy Rooney. Oops, was that that an insult? Is asking if that was an insult, an insult?)

Once I made the attempt to not use animal names as insults, I found using different types of people to describe a person, in an insulting fashion, made no sense either.

So just what is left? How about never insulting anyone ever again! Dare I try? Is avoiding insulting people when writing political commentary like holding one's breath, we know it will only last for so long?

Barack Obama's pattern of dismissing women's contributions to real life situations has reared its head again. The latest controversy involves an african american Harvard College Professor/homeowner and a white policeman, and two unsung female heroes that were completely ignored by Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, and the White House.

Ironically, the people being taken off the bus and marginalized in this latest public imbroglio are neither the overemotional home owner, or the police person doing his job. The two people who have been marginalized regard GatesGate were, women!

According to Lucia Whalen, the woman who actually called 911 to report two men trying to barge into a home through a closed front door, she was first told about the suspicious break in by an elderly woman.

"I just saw it from a distance and this older woman was worried, thinking, 'Someone's been breaking in someone's house. They've been barging in.' "

Both women were BRAVE ENOUGH to witness (and yes, it takes bravery to witness a possible law breaking act that is occurring since you may be seen by the perpetratorssss) a possible break in, keep their cool, yet Lucia Whalen had to keep walking on by while observing the two potentially hostile creatures (edit note - the phrase "possibly hostile creatures" refers to anybody on the planet that one would feel justifiably fearful of approaching to ask a question).

THEN, at some strategic distance past the home that looked like it might be being unlawfully entered, Whalen had to CALL 911 to report what she saw.

The reward both ladies received courtesy of Barack Obama was to be ignored by Barack Obama. lol, maybe being ignored by Barack Obama IS A REWARD.

Barack Obama's first response to the original Crowley vs Gates issue was to create a racial divide where one DID NOT HAVE to exist. Naturally, Barack kisses and makes up with the men, and only the men! Men, Men, Men, Men, Men, manly Men, whooo hooo, hooo hooo hooo. Mennnnnnnnnnnn. (reference is the theme song from 2 1/2 men).

Our president attempts to show everybody how much of a peace maker he can be by inviting the TWO MEN to the White House so Barack Obama can solve a problem HE ESCALATED himself!

But were the women who called in the report invited to the white house? Nope.

"Well, we were going to invite them, but I was told that if we put aprons on them and had them serve us the beers that some people might think that was uncouth." (sarcasm alert).

Maybe timing is everything. Barack Obama was ridiculed for his throw to home plate before the All Star Game. His jeans were made fun of as well. In both instances, he was compared to a girl. Not that there's anything wrong with that. So imagine if Barack Obama had invited both women to the White House instead of the men.

You know what, it's STILL NOT A STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION to imagine Barack Obama inviting the two ladies INSTEAD of the two men to the White House. Honoring people who care enough to get involved, even when they themselves may not have the physical strength to fend off two people behaving oddly, who could notice them looking and attack them, is HEROIC.

So much for the "taking personal responsibility and doing your part to help make your own neighborhood a better place" speech that Barack Obama likes to give in inner city areas about How to make your own neighborhood better by actively participating.

And where was Michelle Obama to step in and perhaps offer to host a meeting a the White House with these two very brave, and very caring ladies? (hint, hint alert).

If ever there was a time for clueless women who voted for Barack Obama rather than Hillary Clinton to be gently grabbed by the collar and mildly shaken by their fellow woman and asked WHY? WHY?, now may be that time.

Simplifying the Barack Obama Citizenship Issue even as Media Matters Attacks Lou Dobbs for bringing the discussion up on his Television Show.

Apparently, Media Matters is outraged that Lou Dobbs brought up the Barack Obama citizenship issue. "How dare he", Media Matters is complaining, "time to shut up Lou Dobbs" they chortle.

I propose a different idea. Can we talk LESS about WHERE Barack Obama might or might not have been born, and focus some discussion on the citizenship status of Barack Obama's FATHER? Can anybody explain what Barack Obama's father's role is in determining whether or not his son can be natural born or not?

Is there any behavior or action that a father can do that would negate his child being considered a natural born citizen even if the child was born in the United States? Think about all of our past presidents.

How many past presidents had fathers who became US citizens BEFORE their sons ran for Vice President or President, the fathers REMAINING US citizens for the rest of their lives, or until their son ran for president? If the answer is ALL OF THEM, until Barack Obama, then "Houston, we have a problem".

If Osama Bin Laden had been a US citizen earlier in his life, then recently snuck back into the United States and fathered a child, and then snuck back out, leaving the child behind, would that child still be considered a natural born US citizen?

If the answer to Osama Bin Laden fathering a child on US soil and the child is declared a U.S. citizen, but NOT a natural born citizen, then other scenarios, involving ALL FATHER'S behavior and motivation, exist as well, and some of these scenarios may relate to Barack Obama's own father as well.

A lot of energy is being spent on where Barack Obama was born and almost none appears to be being spent on Barack Obama's father's path in life.

Why Infrastructure Projects are a hit and miss proposition when it comes to Stimulating the economy.

Yes, infrastructure projects are a necessary part of government. The problem is, we can't use the acceleration of infrastructure projects to help the economy, unless something else is also done. I'll get to that something else momentarily.

Infrastructure projects should be a constant, steady part of the budgeting process on a yearly basis. To suddenly say we need massive infrastructure projects wrapped inside of a stimulus package means we either are creating busy work, or government skimps on infrastructure projects year after year.

Creating busy work is ok, but NOT when it uses too many resources that could be used to create new job streams and new technologies.

As for our government not spending the proper infrastructure budget on a yearly basis, that means the money that was supposed to be spent on infrastructure every year, has already been spent elsewhere.

So now we are paying TWICE for the same infrastructure project, and therein lies the problem. Paying twice for the same infrastructure project, the first time the money was reallocated elsewhere, is not a good deal and DOES NOT stimulate anything that would help the economy.

There is a solution to avoid paying twice for the same infrastructure project. Any infrastructure project that was previously delayed so money could be reallocated elsewhere, CAN ONLY BE DONE NOW IF IT IS COMBINED with a NEW, PROGRESSIVE, INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT that is generally regarded as helping save energy or resources, or create new products that save energy and or resources.

So if there is bridge that needs to be refurbished, FIND SOMETHING that creates energy efficiency that the refurbished bridge connects to.

Will the refurbished bridge support other types of transportation besides automobiles?

If the refurbishing of the bridge will also create an improved route for other forms of transportation, such as electric bicycles, joggers, and pedestrians, then it becomes an infrastructure project with an obvious purpose other than just trickling down money to us minions on projects that don't make us feel connected to improving our countries method of operating.
