The entire California Legislature "Stop Nick Shirley Act" AB 2624 saga is the perfect Coke vs Pepsi schism that the elites from both Political Parties love to dangle in front of we the people and yell "fetch".
Both sides are WRONG for believing the other side is completely in the wrong.
According to AB 2624, Private citizens, and Private non-citizens, can no longer be outed on social media unless,
- charges have been filed,
- Emergency Responder is investigating,
- Emergency Responder Report has been filed,
- a Government Agency has filed a report,
- or, a lawsuit has been filed.
However, as Nick Shirley has pointed out, Corrupt Politicians are not necessarily in any hurry, nor feel obligated, to intiate any of the 5 options mentioned above, and therein resides one of the core issues.
The additional core issue over which there is confusion, a citizen journalist can apparently still investigate, still document, and still ask questions, what the citizen journalist cannot do is create publicity or stream over social media visuals, or content, that has not had any of the 5 scenarios mentioned above, occur.
Neither Political Party seems interested in fully explaining AB 2624. Perhaps Democrat Politicians don't want to fully explain AB 2624 because no matter how they explain it, they will be accused of quashing basic freedom of speech rights regarding news reporting and investigations. There is also the issue of Democrats being put on the defensive since how Nick Shirley uncovered billions of dollars of Tax revenue fraud is no longer legal.
Ironically, I did post warnings to Mr. Shirley when he first was posting his videos that they were implying people were guilty of something without actual, real proof, and therein resides the tipping point regarding AB 2624. If Circumstantial Evidence cannot be used to generate additional scrutiny, then Politicians may be able to get away with a ridiculous amount of graft and corruption.
The Political Fox has literally fortified the hen house they routinely fund, and raid.
Ironically, the arrival of AI generated video may render AB 2624 somewhat irrelevant.
