Kept waiting for the Hardball February 27, 2019 episode so I could view Steven Kornacki's editorial close. Was unable to find just the Editorial only but I did manage to get a Transcript of it. Kornacki's Editorial explains Trump and his supporters exceedingly well. Kornacki only said his name at the very beginning of the Hardball episode, then. never said it again. I had never seen him before and didn't know who he was. Incredible how protective Chris Matthew's people are over not allowing a guest to even say his name or have it flashed on the screen. Best Educational and informative Editorial goes to Steve Kornacki while filling in on Hardball on the February 27, 2019 episode.
.......Welcome back.
The scene the whole world
40:49
witnessed in front of the House
40:50
Oversight Committee today would have
40:52
rocked any other presidency to its core
40:55
Michael Cohen called Donald Trump a
40:58
criminal a fraud and a racist and
41:00
suggested federal prosecutors may be
41:02
putting a case together from a legal
41:04
standpoint there are obvious open
41:07
questions here we will see what special
41:09
counsel Robert Muller does or doesn't do
41:11
we will see what if anything emerges
41:14
from federal prosecutors in New York
41:16
maybe even from the New York State
41:17
Attorney General action on any of these
41:19
fronts could dramatically change Trump's
41:22
presidency but when it comes to the
41:25
politics it is still far from clear what
41:27
effect if any a day like today will have
41:30
the charges from Cohen were absolutely
41:32
explosive no question but were they
41:35
actually surprising this is one of the
41:38
things that makes the Trump presidency
41:39
so different from those that came before
41:41
it most voters including many of trumps
41:44
own supporters already believe that
41:47
Donald Trump had exceptionally low
41:49
character even before he became
41:51
president in the 2016 exit poll just 33
41:54
percent of voters said they considered
41:55
Trump honest one in three of his own
41:58
voters considered him dishonest only 35%
42:01
said he had the temperament to be
42:03
President just 38 percent said he was
42:05
even qualified for the office in polling
42:08
before the election only one-third of
42:10
Trump's vote of voters said that Trump
42:12
shared their values 59% said they agreed
42:15
that quote Trump talks in a way that
42:17
appeals to bigotry 44% said they
42:20
considered him an out-and-out racist
42:22
remember the Access Hollywood tape
42:24
Trump's comments about what he could get
42:26
away with because he was famous that
42:28
tape played for the whole world to hear
42:29
just weeks before the election and yet
42:31
here we are by the slimmest of margins
42:34
and with huge numbers of Americans
42:36
convinced he was a lousy person Donald
42:38
Trump was still elected president and
42:40
while there is no evidence he has gained
42:42
any support since becoming president his
42:44
numbers have been pretty stable an
42:46
approval rating that never really falls
42:48
lower than somewhere in the high 30s
42:49
never really gets hire than the mid 40s
42:51
just like his support in the polls
42:53
during the campaign so yes the kinds of
42:56
things we heard today would probably
42:57
have been ruinous for
42:59
past-president but what was shocking in
43:02
the past may almost be expected in the
43:06
Trump era that's hardball for now
