DailyPUMA launches SISTER SITE, My Third Party. Pumas and Politicians opposing Pelosi and Reid or those running as a third party will be featured.

My Third Party is now up and running. The defeat of any politician who disrupted the contest between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama BEFORE all democratic voters had a chance to vote need to be voted out of office.

My Third Party will link to politicians that are not part of the Reid, Pelosi and Obama Triangle, nor the Republican Equivalent. However, taking back the democratic party from the politically self absorbed who put their own career ahead of the welfare of the country must be dealt with first and foremost.

Mr. Reid is raising millions of dollars for his sham-paign, maybe if those donating to Reid had a chance to see the oppositions websites by simply going to My Third Party, they would see they have a choice and maybe his competition would get more donations and Reid less.

It took me a few minutes to track down Mr. Reid's top three opponents, now you can click on any of their web links in just a second or two.

Better still, My Third Party will auto update any news coming out of the blogs of those opposing Reid, Pelosi, and Obama and the Republican equivalent.

Additionally, My Third Party candidates can get their site listed as well and Jake Towne is the first that I have listed. If you have suggestions for candidates, please notify me here or at My Third Party.

I would like to extend an invitation to ALL HILLARY CLINTON SUPPORTERS and PUMA blogs who want to help bring politicians who oppose Reid, Pelosi and Barack Obama into the limelight. We can defeat the 2008 behind the scenes democrats who did not trust the democratic voters to make an informed decision, and instead hijacked the 2008 democratic presidential process for their own selfish agenda.

If you are a reader of DailyPUMA and see another prominent blog ignoring this effort, please challenge them yourself to get involved with this effort. The more PUMAS that share names of politicians running against the political infrastructure, the more My Third Party can create real change.

Apparently, a couple of PUMA blogs are not updating...

DailyPUMA doesn't have total control over the automatic updating feature. If your blog is not updating please don't take it as a slight. Feel free to contact me and I can try to reset your blog to see if that jump starts it, otherwise, I don't know what the problem is and am open to suggestions.

Good News, even though I really have very few options, I was able to get about four puma blogs that were not auto updating jump started so they now appear to be auto updating.

DUNG FOR DOLLARS, Saw it on Current TV.

Every now and then I rediscover Current TV. Perhaps I associate Current TV too closely with the "Barack Obama movement", but now that that is not as noticeable, I thought I would share this video with you all.

No judgements, just fascinating to learn
about.

Literal Video, Pure YouTube Genius.

I wonder what the next step is for this
youtube genius. Double click on the
video to go to dascottjr youtube home
page for other hilarious literal video gems.

Upon Further review, the youtube
filmmaker above CREDITS DUSTO

However, not all of Dusto McNeato's
videos are actually literal video.
I have asked Mr. McNeato to separate
his videos into more understandable
categories since the literal videos
are so funny.

Sloppy reporting by the late night
news for not giving out proper
credit.

(edit update), what confused the
issue is that some of McNeato's
literal videos were taken down
by youtube after music company
reps complained about the
lampooning of their music.

So the very video he spoke of
as having a couple million hits
was no longer on youtube.

Is this YouTube Video Really Berlusconi Behaving Badly? Burlesqueconi, BurLustconi, yeesh.

Does Belusconi get to keep his job if this is really Berlusconi Behaving Badly? It's not just that he did this, it's that the other person never even saw him coming.

Edit update - I just discovered that this video is from around the middle of February, 2008, lol, so I guess he gets to keep his job. I wonder if the 2008 US democratic race overshadowed this story.

So I guess the lesson is, if your going to do something stupid in public, do it when the US is front and center with their Barack Obama vs Hillary Clinton drama going on.

Putting the Klunk in Cash for Clunkers.

There have been a few complaints against the cash for clunkers program as being just another government bailout boondoggle. One writer calculated that the actual increase in the number of cars that would be sold this quarter would be around 22,000. They then divided that figure by the one billion dollars and determined that the cost per additional car sold was around 40-44,000 dollars per car! Ouch!

I don't think the above calculation takes into account mitigating circumstances such as would sales have really been only 22,000 cars less without the discount? Also, were I a superficial ninny and my friend who was driving a real clunker suddenly shows up in a car nicer than mine, I'm heading to the car lot and I'm going to buy a newer, better car, and WITHOUT the clunker discount!

So it may be too early to predict how many more cars will be sold. Plus, there are a LOT LESS dealerships around these days, so actually gaining 22,000 more car sales could actually work out to a significant percentage increase among the remaining car dealerships.

However, I think there is a more tangible concern to roil over in regards to the cash for clunkers progrm. Some of the clunkers being turned in are simply being replaced by an 09 clunker. Check out this ad,

What does purchasing a huge SUV have to do with the cash for clunkers program? You have to really study the ad to see that the bottom car in the ad, the Yukon, has no cash for clunkers discount attached, they just chose to add a similar discount to try and get the super hatchling out the door with the other slightly less clunkery vehicles.

Which brings me to my gripe.
ONLY A 2 MPG INCREASE and a customer can turn in an old super heavy clunker for a new super heavy clunker?
I understand that 2 miles per gallon improvement on a big heavy clunker is percentage wise better than it sounds. However, I would have tied the clunker discount directly to the MPG of the New Car Being purchased, that's what really matters, isn't it? Any new car that gets 27 miles per gallon combined, or over, gets a 2,500 dollar discount. For every additional mile per gallon over 27 that a new car can squeeze out in the miles per gallon category, I would have added an extra 250 dollars discount, up to 40 miles per gallon ceiling on the new car purchase. If you turn in a clunker and buy a car that gets 39 miles per gallon combined, you would get a 5,500 dollar rebate.

The higher the MPG of the car being purchased, the higher the likelihood that that new car won't tear up the streets and make potholes out of the newly minted pavement that has been resurfaced with infrastructure stimulus money, and, perhaps, we stall off making new potholes from bombs in other parts of the world as we seek out new sources of oil.

Lets have some perspective here. Is it really that big of a deal to drive a car that gets really good gas mileage if it means less wars around the globe, AND the government is willing to help you pay for the car? It's just too bad the government had to put the k in klunker and just not go far enough with this program in terms of really promoting higher miles per gallon cars.

I talked about the importance of combining stimulus programs so they end up complementing each other. The more fuel efficient cars on the road, the longer the roads last, ergo infrastructure money going towards roads is an investment that now lasts longer. In my opinion paying people to barely upgrade their miles per gallon on their new car purchase misses the whole point of the cars for clunkers program.

Two cool websites, One lets you share your articles with other bloggers, the other enables you to instantly compare many different web services.

Part of DailyPUMA's goal is to increase the efficiency of how quickly we can find each other's articles, how we can share them, and how we learn about new things that can make our blogging experience and our blogs, better and faster.

ShareThis.com is an easy way to allow other bloggers who visit your site a way to share your articles with their own blog readers. None of us are an island, so being able to share articles with each other is an excellent way to expand our readership while also tributing other writer's best works. Share This, does exactly that.

The Website sitonomy has assembled certain blogging requirements I might have such as stat counting, share widgets, ad options, blogging options, widget options, etc. into one page displays that show several options at the same time. It seems like this can be a time saver when one is looking to expand or change what their blog can do. Sitonomy's main page apparently can dissect what any page on the web is actually using to make their page work the way that it does.

--------------------------
Quick update. Somebody is claiming that Share This inserts ads within the links. I don't understand how it does that. I don't recall them doing that when I use their service. I will either confirm this accusation or delete it when I learn more.

Daily PUMA releases its own PUMA STIMULUS PACKAGE and Daily PUMA readers are the beneficiaries!

After watching Congress effortlessly add money to the United States economy, Daily PUMA wondered if extra width could be added to the two, far right PUMA Blog columns. After playing with column width numbers, Daily PUMA is pleased to announce its very own PUMA STIMULUS PACKAGE! If you look to the right you will notice BOTH PUMA COLUMNS ARE NOW WIDER!

DailyPUMA hasn't quite mastered the art of creating column width out of non-existent space with the same ease that congress creates wealth out of thin air. It appears that when the right two PUMA columns were widened, the center, main column shrank by an equal amount.

In an effort to appease all points of view, the left column of the blog, the non PUMA blog column, was also widened just a tad, resulting in even more shrinkage (aka tax cut) of the center column.

For some reason, DailyPUMA can't seem to master the concept of increasing all the columns that demand increases while also maintaining the original size of the center column.

Good News, Bad News about DailyPUMA.

Well, it's mostly good news actually. Daily PUMA has EXPANDED the two right columns of this blog to give better highlighting to the PUMA blogs. The Wider columns should also increase how long each PUMA article remains near the top of the column. (It's a mathematical, longitudinal distance thing).

The bad news is the center column had to be shrunk and now has to have all the individual video clips readjusted. At the moment the time to do that cannot be found.
