2012 Republicans need a dose of Seinfeld to go along with their contract with God.

Yes the last two republican conventions being shortened because of God Like bad weather conditions, and Hurricane Sandy just before the 2012 presidential elections, ARE A SIGN FROM GOD that republicans need to just slightly change how they think about things.

Otherwise, the classic religious story about the person stuck on a roof after a flood who three times says no when help comes because the person is waiting for a sign from God, only to hear God say, "I sent you help three times, what are you waiting for", has no meaning.

It's called separation of church and state, FOR A REASON. "The Bible says" should NOT be used as a primary reason to have a political conviction. Most of the ten commandments are backed up by law anyways, so there is no need to use the bible to combine church and state.

If we are to believe that a separation in the middle east between their religious beliefs and their own governments is warranted, then it's also warranted in the U.S.

Rather than relying on the bible, this means republicans have to come up with an intellectual reason as to why such politically charged issues such as Gay Marriage should not be legalized. If they can't find a non religious reason to be for or against something, they shouldn't take a position. 

But it also means that if republicans don't use the bible to dictate their political beliefs, they then can't come up with straw hat arguments simply to preserve what they think the bible says about Gay Marriage or some other controversial social issue.

That is the tricky part, to actually have a conviction without it being solely rooted in religion. 

I can find social references in the "Seinfeld" TV series that are absolutely every bit as valid as references to the bible when it comes to real life issues. "The top of the muffin" Seinfeld episode is the an absolutely perfect analogy of non renewable but easier to harvest Petroleum (the top of the muffin), versus renewable energy resources such as wind, solar and ocean tides being viewed as the bottom of the muffin (less tasty). The Seinfeld conclusion, you just can't minimize or pretend that the bottom of the muffin does not exist.

So going forward, if republicans can separate their personal religious views from their political agenda, they become a more reasonable alternative to the whack a noodle democrat progressives who are suffocating the much more reasonable moderate democrats.

I tried searching for the total precinct victories for each 2012 presidential candidate, but was unable to find it. I think republicans probably won more precincts than democrats did in the 2012 presidential race, so to imply the republicans lost by a huge amount would be a mistake.

There is some type of growing disconnect between more rural counties and those with more dense populations. Republicans must reconnect with the more population dense precincts, and do it without relying on the bible.

Media Misrepresenting Bill Clintons fiscal record, here is the correction.

While it may be true that Bill Clinton went more center because the republicans had a majority in Congress, it is also true that Bill Clinton LOWERED the annual budget deficit EACH AND EVERY YEAR HE WAS IN OFFICE and was the only president in the past 80 years to do so!

On 2012 election night announcers from various channels keep saying that Bill Clinton attacked the budget deficit during his second term. Nope, not true. Bill Clinton started attacking the budget deficit from his first budget and stayed the course for 8 straight years.

The best Barack Obama may be able to do in the next four years is to not keep running up the debt, but still leave office with a huge debt anyways. Obama did huge damage during the first four years trying to curry favors with those who supported him in 2008, and that move basically averted any chance Obama would have to put a dent in the budget deficit.

As the numbers keep coming in after Romney's concession speech, Ohio creeps closer and closer together,(I based this observation on a Fox news graphic that showed Obama and Romney almost tied, but that may have been an erroneous graph) and apparently Florida was slowly going to Obama, but may now be slightly swinging back in the other direction, so why was Romney forced to concede so soon?

If Barack Obama can be declared the "presumptive nominee" in 2008 (a made up phrase to justify Obama getting the nomination over Hillary Clinton when the race was still too close to call), why is Romney forced to give up when two huge states are still too close to call.

Instead of concession speeches, why not give a presumptive concession speech in which one agrees they have probably lost, but they still reserve the right to be eligible for the presidency based on all the votes being counted.

What concerns me is that once concession speeches are given, I wonder if the remaining uncounted votes are actually still accurately counted.

Main Street in Revolt

Main Street in Revolt by Salena Zito of Real Clear Politics discusses what could give Romney the victory this coming Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

If Obama wins, I will think it will be because Romney was much too piggish on his energy position, mentioning nuclear, shale, fracking, petroleum and coal in the final debate, and purposely leaving out solar and wind energy.

Romney's energy position is so dense that if Romney had been around when petroleum was first being introduced as a possible energy product, Romney would have dismissed it saying that mules, oxen and ponies were a far better value for the money, and that until petroleum could stand on its own two feet profitability wise, there would be no point in investing in petroleum.

This was a huge tactical mistake by Romney no doubt based on Obama's Solyndra 500 million dollar apparent boondoggle. How ironic it will be if Obama's Solyndragate caused Romney to so distance himself from renewable energy he gave Obama just enough of the independent vote to win.

Between Romney's invisible passion for renewable energy, and the apparent ample gathering of Republican military advisors from prior republican administrations, Romney appears to be another George Bush waiting to happen.

On the other hand, when one compares Romney to McCain, and Obama's penchant for running up the deficit while not actually giving many on main street any REAL solutions on their foreclosure and debt situations that was caused by wall street, it seems like a no brainer that Romney should improve dramatically on McCain's electoral college result in 2008, dramatically.

So what could still give the edge to Obama? Possibly that there are more younger voters than older voters, and every year older voters die off while more younger voters get the right to vote.

Everybody's talking at me, I can't hear a word their saying, 2012 presidential election version.

If Bill and Hillary Clinton want to save America, they should buy Current TV from Al Gore.

Current TV is for sale.

Current TV is a news channel create in part by Al Gore that is aimed at the next generation MTV crowd. Amazingly, Current TV only generated 19.7 million in ad sales in a full years time in 2011. By contrast, Current TV collects around 82 million dollars in revenue from cable companies that carry the channel.

If Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton want to save america, they could go a long way towards that goal by buying and converting Current TV to a MODERATE democrat and MODERATE Republican based news channel. PBS for the masses.

The second trick would be to leverage the price per household that Cable TV pays Current TV and move the channel number above 100 to the general vicinity of Fox, MSNBC, CNN and CNBC. Perhaps the purchasers of Current TV could offer a price freeze and even rebates based on total ad revenue for the next four years. In exchange for that perk the Cable TV and dish networks move Current TV into the 60's numbers where the other Cable News Network channels can be found. 

We are done with change in this country as long as the progressive led radicals on the left continue to duke it out with the neo conservatives on the right. It is actually the moderates from both parties who get things done. 

However the new George Soros / Arianna Huffington instituted formula is too scare the party moderates from each political party back towards the progressive and neo conservative flank within each party.

The result is political polarization. Those who called Hillary Clinton a polarizing figure in 2008 were the real polarizers. 

Current TV may prove to be the best chance our country has to systematically bring the moderates from both parties back into the leadership roles of the democrat and republican party.

If the Clintons are serious about undoing the damage from the years 2000 through 2016, they need to start NOW, and buy Current TV.

Mitt Romney's Alternative Energy Policy needs fixing before November 6th, 2012.

Renewable energy is belived too expensive right now in part because petroleum is considered so much more inexpensive (a debatable point when we add the price of two wars in the past decade to protect our oil interest in those two regions). 

However, as the price of petroleum goes up because of scarcity, it will just become even more expensive to use petroleum to develop non renewable energy, meaning we never reach the point where non renewable energy can create more non-renewable energy.

There is a threshold point with renewable energy where if enough renewable's already exist, then more renewable’s can be created primarily from existing renewable energy sources. We are nowhere near that point, and as the price of petroleum goes up because of scarcity, we will never get to a point where alternative energy is "affordable" since most people will not stand for petroleum that could have gone into their car's tank going for research and development of more efficient renewable energy technology.

Petroleum would better serve the planet as a transitional energy source that allows for an infrastructure of renewable energy to be created so that less coal, nuclear and petroleum are necessary to meet our energy needs.

Mitt Romney's belief that alternative energy should be affordably competitive first, is opportunistically ridiculous. Petroleum was not affordably competitive at first. Petroleum only became affordable once there was a generated need for petroleum, such as assembly lines that created lower cost cars.  Even then, it was the creation of the federal reserve right around the same time as petroleum was being harnessed.

Those cars coming off the first assembly line were purchased with LOANS. According to Romney's philosophy, those cars should never have been created since it took the Federal Reserve butting in with "loans" to help create additional demand for petroleum that then allowed for investment in petroleum to be justified.

Hey, maybe Romney is an environmentalist after all!  Better still, if it takes government intervention to accelerate alternative energy growth, the payback in saved military actions will more than make up for the initial costs.

Richard Mourdock's Rape Quote, what Mr. Mourdock appears to have missed when he "struggled" with his rape pregnancy viewpoint.

"I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize, life is that gift from God, and I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape that it is something that God intended to happen". -Richard Mourdock 

Here's the problem with that quote by Mr. Mourdock, it doesn't matter how much you intellectually struggle with an issue if the issue can never directly happen to you, past, present or future.

I would give Mr. Mourdock two conditional out clauses that would allow him to keep his opinion and be considered just an imbecile and not worse.

Out clause number one, If Mr. Mourdock personally stops five different rapists who are obviously about to assault a different woman, and will probably succeed because they are either bigger and stronger or perhaps because they have a knife. If Mr. Mourdock can stop those five rapists, then I would acknowledge that Mr. Mourdock has at least physically earned the right to have his schmucky opinion since he actually physically "struggled" in regard to rape and pregnancy.

The irony being that if Mr. Mourdock personally stops five rapes he might have stopped a potential pregnancy anyways, and the additional irony being that one of those five rapists probably aborts Mr. Mourdock first.

Or, out clause number two, Mr. Mourdock agrees to sign up as the first male baby transplant surrogate who will bring a baby borne out of rape to gestation inside his own body. 

Please, somebody just ask Mr. Mourdock, would he be willing to ever carry a baby to term that resulted from rape if it became medically possibly.

Until then, Mr. Mourdock's mental "struggles" with physical rape and physical pregnancy are just mental masturbation.

Romney absolves Bill Clinton during the third 2012 debate for not getting Osama Bin Laden in the 90's, Obama stays consistent in message, too consistent according to this youtube video.

Did anyone catch Romney's comment about the 2000 debate "that neither presidential candidate brought up terrorism, yet a year later 911 happened".

Oh really. So all that daft talk by whack a noodle republicans about it being Bill Clinton's fault for not taking out Osama Bin Laden in the 90's "when he had the chance", was just more Clinton Derangement Syndrome at work.

Not to be outdone, Barack Obama has been tributed for his ability to remember his promises from four years ago and recite them virtually word for word. 

May I add that during the final couple of weeks of 2008 campaigning, Obama would recite what appeared to be the exact same speech every day, and the one basic "change" was the number of days until the final primary vote, and I presume getting the city right that he was speaking in.

I guess I'm leaning Jill Stein at this point. Geeze, Romney went through his own energy policy goals and mentioned, nuclear, coal, petroleum, natural gas, but refused to mention either solar or wind, what an IDIOT.

The Endless Media mispersonifications of the Clintons, it just never ends, why do the Clintons tolerate it, the media are not worthy.

There was a hit piece on Bill Clinton during the 2008 democrat election campaign in which the headline to an article describing a peaceful appearance by Bill Clinton as he talked about alternative energy ended up as, " Bill Clinton holds back on Obama criticisms".  

This next one, involving Hillary Clinton, is absolute insanity. By the way, I think the Atlantic is a cesspool of Obama salivators and has been since 2007.  How sad.

"People don't assume John Wayne shoots people and rides a horse on weekends," she told a Dutch interviewer. "People think I'm a nymphomaniac."

The Yahoo tribute to Sylvia Kristel revealed many things I did not know about her, my two favorite are that "in 2006 Kristel received a special jury prize at the Tribeca Film Festival for a short animated film she directed called "Topor et Moi", the title a reference to the French Illustrator and filmmaker Roland Topor".

And I love her John Wayne quote, also from the Yahoo tribute... "People don't assume John Wayne shoots people and rides a horse on weekends," she told a Dutch interviewer. "People think I'm a nymphomaniac."

What's so funny about that quote is, the odds are higher that John Wayne probably did shoot and ride horses on his weekends than Kristel's reputation being based on her movies.

I wonder if it would have messed up society if a women who is perfectly capable of being a fine actress, starts off doing porn, then ends up being an accomplished actress.

The "advice" her boyfriend gave her before she did her first porn film, "It will never pass the censors, don't worry about it", definitely not words to live by.

DailyKOS up in arms over BinderGate, I can't stop laughing.

DailyKOS is rabidly upset over Mitt Romney's alleged exaggeration about asking for qualified women he could hire, and then receiving a binder's worth full of applications.  

The comment sections are a hoot.   

The progressives are the ones who railroaded the BEST CANDIDATE in 2008, Hillary Clinton, then set their rabies drenched spittle on Sarah Palin in 2008 as well, then toasted Michelle Bachman in 2012.

So it's hard not to giggle because even if their outrage is somehow justified, their own checkered past needs vetting, cleansing, last rites administered, and then begging Hillary Clinton for forgiveness.

You don't get to jump ahead and now be demonically outraged at what a political opponent may be doing in a much smaller dose. If Hillary Clinton had ran and won in 2008, Mitt Romney WOULD NOT HAVE EVEN RUN this time, because he would have known it would have just been a big waste of his own and his friends money trying to topple Hillary Clinton's re-election effort.

That's how jobs are created, no?  An out of work instructor is paid to teach an unskilled person new skills, who then is hired by the Dr. Laura show.  Why just go for the jugular and try get it all in one fell swoop?

Heck, why not offer a class to learn the skills needed to be a Dr. Laura call screener.  Now suddenly 20 people have new skills to put on their resume, and an instructor has a terrific reference as well.

Isn't that how jobs get created, or we must we always just go for the muffin top?

She flys all over the world, can you be bothered to register to voice your opinion while never leaving your computer?

Is Romney including Senior Citizens in his 47% calculation?

Assuming that about 20% of the population are seniors, is Mitt Romney including seniors in his 47% entitlement calculation? I don't think it's fair to include seniors in that 47% as being entitlement benefactors.

That would mean that either 27% fit Romney's entitlement description if Romney was mistakenly including seniors, or, if Romney was not including seniors, it could also would mean that 67% of the country is receiving some type of payout from the government.

Either way, it was interesting that Romney called the 10% independent swing vote as the key to the election. In the past I have called it a 40-40-20 scenario.  40% always vote Republican, 40% always vote democrat, and 20% who are "swingable".

Romney is now reducing that swingable vote to 10%.  Perhaps this is true because of the rise in alleged minorities who soon will outnumber caucasians in the U.S.

It is interesting that the media did not say much about all of the ethnicities that spoke at the Republican convention.

An apology to Hillary.  I'm not buying it. This is just a trick to lure Hillary Clinton supporters. A writer from 2008 who supported Barack Obama magically now wishes Hillary Clinton were president, or would run in 2016.

Give me a break. NOBODY is that obtuse that it would take them four years to realize that Hillary Clinton was the obvious better choice.

Barack Obama says that all African Americans should vote for him.

This 100% racially driven message should have been a message to get out and vote, not get out and vote for Barack Obama.

Lots of frustrating links in this Occupy Wall Street Article. I found the one where several dozen striking miners were shot and killed by police resulting in a couple hundred of striking miners being tortured and now prosecuted especially egregious.

What an ironic circle of life. The article starts with african american women who are in jail because they fought back against their attackers, and ends with miners who are being abused beyond comprehension so...women can be wooed with diamonds from South Africa, yeesh.
