I belong to the No Cussing Club. I have definitely curtailed my internet cussing. I don't think I did that much to begin with but I definitely have rewritten articles and removed cussing. I recall cussing one recently in an article, primarily to illustrate how important that one issue was to me. If I were to cuss about more things, it would diminish the point of cussing.
I believe that Social cussing tends to create what I call "stupid bonding". I believe stupid bonding tends to lead to increased levels of violence, rancor, and all around pointless pontifications and interactions.
Yes, cussing can be a release. But group cussing probably serves no useful purpose other than to ramp the group up for some kind of behavior that may endanger those outside of the group.

Thisweek there passing other ACR's with no problem. But our ACR CussFree Week anti- bullying campaign was not even put up for a vote.It was supposed to be voted on today March 11th. This is incorrect information. As the Communications Director for Senator Sam Aanestad -- the writer of this post is mistaken. Do the math. Senator Aanestad is a Republican. Republicans do not control the Senate Rules Committee. The Majority Party -- the Democrats -- control this committee because they physically have more elected members than Republicans do. Even IF Senator Aanestad wanted to hold the bill -- he could not. Republicans lack the votes to do so. I understand Mr. Machi's frustration -- but it is misdirected.
I appreciate your response Mr. Bird. I am just repeating what Mr. McKay sent in an email to me and his no cussing constituents.
SOMEBODY appears to be holding up the no cussing bill, unless it's just being delayed because that's how politics works.
Mr. McKay's concern appears to be that other bills that are non finance related appear to be passing through and being approve, while the no cussing proposal appears to be stuck in neutral.

Budget deficit delays Calif. no-swearing proposal

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Consider it yet another victim of California's ongoing fiscal mess: The state Senate has indefinitely postponed action on a do-gooder resolution that would encourage Californians to give up swearing temporarily.
The resolution, which establishes an annual statewide "Cuss Free Week," passed the Assembly on Thursday. If the Senate had approved it, the measure would have taken effect this week.
Instead, the resolution is awaiting assignment by the Senate Rules Committee as lawmakers grapple with the state's $20 billion budget deficit.
"We have some pressing fiscal concerns to address," said Kathryn Dresslar, chief of staff to Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg. "There's absolutely nothing personal about this."
Some of the bill's chief supporters aren't so sure.
"This is basically saying to people, especially kids, 'We don't care what you do,'" said South Pasadena resident Brent Hatch, whose 16-year-old son McKay inspired the bill through his international campaign against profanity.
McKay Hatch started a No Cussing Club at his junior high school in 2007, and similar clubs have since cropped up in every state and 20 countries. Hatch said he sees a link between foul-mouthed incivility and other forms of problem behavior, such as drug use and bullying.
Assemblyman Anthony Portantino, a Democrat from La Canada Flintridge and co-author of the Cuss Free Week bill, said that with or without Senate approval, the attention the measure has already received has advanced Hatch's cause.
"This is a ceremonial resolution, and the spirit of it, I think, has taken hold," he said Tuesday.
