Daily PUMA Column - Commentary by Alessandro Machi

A New Breed of "Blog", Madame Secretary, comprised of hundreds of former government employees now out of power, run by Newsweek, Gasp.

I guess operation Blog Swarm is in full run mode. Madame Secretary, a blog grudgingly listed on DailyPUMA, purports to follow everything Hillary. Yet it is also a blog bankrolled by our friends at Newsweek. You know, the rag that has Jonathan Alter at the helm, who regularly appears on Keith Olbermann's show to make fun of people who talk respectfully of Hillary Clinton. PROOF.

Creepy aspects to Madame Secretary include naming where Hillary Clinton is set to go. Normally the news reports where somebody has been, or reports where they are just as it happens. There is a safety aspect to this type of news reporting when it involves politicians. But I guess when it comes to Hillary Clinton, it's ok to telegraph where she may or may not be going several days in advance.

And, I guess it's ok to not only telegraph where Hillary Clinton is going, but also to have ads such as the one just below...
Isn't that special.

There are several title tabs on Madame Secretary, and each tab reveals a whole nother blog, and a whole nother cadre of writers. I found SHADOW GOVERNMENT TAB somewhat insulting, considering that it is close to Arianna Huffington's Shadow Convention in name. Huffington and George Soros propped up the shadow convention several years ago in preparation for their assault on Hillary Clinton in the 2008 elections.

Here is their own, partial description of Shadow Government, In parliamentary democracies, the "shadow government" is a group of like-minded policymakers who have served in government before and who now find themselves outside of it. In that spirit, this is a blog about U.S. foreign policy, written by people who've made it before. Our commentary and analysis will reflect our experience in government and the practical knowledge we've gleaned from it (not always the easy way). We'll discuss foreign policy with an intimate familiarity of the imperfections and complications, the trade-offs and unintended consequences that are a fact of life when dealing with the world as it is, not as one wishes it to be. And we'll approach the many hard problems facing the United States today with an appreciation for the limits of our nation's power, but also for its enduring potential to shape events for the better.

Whose paying all of these political journalists who used to work in Washington, or still do, to operate this blog? Their annual budget must easily hit several millions of dollars. Um, a little financial disclosure on where the money is coming from for this obviously money losing venture, please.

Nice images, but thats about it!

And to maintain that site will costs millions of dollars a year. They won't get it from their advertising.

Who funds them?

Newsweek is presumably democratic these days, so why would it be under their auspices?

Why are you listing it?

Hi, Allesandro,

I don't know the backstory of the Madam Secretary blog. I read the entries there, and sometimes I post comments. In the comments section, another poster said that one of the blog writers used to write anti-Hillary pro-Obama articles during the primaries. I believe there may be connections there to the Administration itself, but I don't know. That would answer the question of where their money is coming from ...

As for the news they offer, I believe much of it comes from the State Dept. website (like Hillary's itinerary, for instance) and from alleged "insiders". Again, I am just speculating.

Why is it being listed? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

It is a deceptively huge blog. It may even be bigger than Huffington Post yet it looks much much smaller at first glance.

Another reason why it is unncceptable for Barack Obama to be able to keep all of that undocumented money from his election, it can easily fund blogs like this without hesitation.

Agreed. When I first started reading the Madam Secretary blog and it became apparent that there was a hidden Obot agenda there, I started posting comments there that were in favor of staunch Hillaryites keeping a watchful eye on that blog. I do believe there are genuine pro-Obama White House-sanctioned Democrats behind it. I have no proof of that, but I am just judging by the blog entries there (Dem strategist Paul Begala contributed to a blog post there recently) and some of the "let bygones be bygones" Obot comments that pop up whenever we Clintonistas get a little too defensive of Hillary.

If Daily PUMA can list arch-conservative blogs (like Malkin, for instance) which surely have no love for Hillary, then I think you can keep Madam Secretary on here. I believe it's better to know what the Obots are up to with regard to Hillary's "official" image, and to let them know that PUMAs watch and wait -- ready to pounce ...

I have to admit that I did know about Malkin until very close to when DailyPUMA started, which was just after the Nov 08 elections. I don't know much about her bashing Hillary Clinton.

The reason I think it is important to keep some conservtive blogs in the mix is sometimes a blog like Malkin will break an important story that the Obama loving media will not.

The trap is to not believe a lot of the conservative commentary since they become predisposed to being against democratic causes pretty much 99% of the time.

Dowd would never be on here, that's for sure. Dowd would have to be viewed as 10 times worse than Malkin because Dowd is supposed to be more supportive of the democratic side as a general rule.
If I'm wrong about Dowd leaning more democratic than conservative, it's only because I try to avoid her columns at all costs ever since she made her idiotic rants against all things Hillary.

Here's an entire category of anti-Hillary posts on Malkin's widely read blog:

http://michellemalkin.com/category/politicians/hillary-clinton/

This category contains these gems:

http://michellemalkin.com/2008/05/07/game-over-for-hillary/

http://michellemalkin.com/2008/05/21/my-lady-parts-do-not-ache-for-hillary-clinton/

http://michellemalkin.com/2008/05/23/hillarys-foot-in-mouth-moment-will-bobby-kennedy-assassination-remarks-be-the-final-nail/

and so much more!

I agree with your decision to include Malkin, but let's not forget how poisonous her pen can be.

NO- The two are NOT synonymous. One is a puppet. The other is the Master (the bank)! The puppet can easily be replaced.

The puppet cannot be easily replaced, but his strings can probably be easily manipulated.

Obama is damned to labor in his pretend presidency while the sword of Damocles wavers over his head.

If Obama doesn't please the Global Bankers, all they have to do to terminate him is play the nbc card.

poof! Hello, President Biden! :)
